For the 4th of July week, I went home to NJ to visit my family. My youngest sister, a wildlife conservation major, took me to Sedge Island, her workplace. (She kayaks to the island as part of her “commute”. How cool is that?!)
She was checking her trackers and annotating each time a bird would fly by her cameras. One tracker listed 600 times! Needless to say, I got a lot of sketches of her.
Me: (looks at sketch) I think I made her fat.
My fiance: Well, she *is* fat.
A few weeks back, my fiance and I went to his sister’s wedding in Charlottesville, VA. There was this great Farmer’s Market there, so I decided to draw a few of the stands.

With the advent of my new life on the West Coast, I decided it’s time to get back into sketching. My focus is to get the likeness of a person down. This was definitely a challenge.
