Fiona the Hippo
Doing more Fiona the Hippo studies after visiting her at the Cincinnati Zoo awhile back. This is also an experiment with the Kuretake Zig Clean Color blue-gray brush pen I picked up over the weekend. You can use water to dilute the ink to give it a watercolor-like quality. It also plays well with Copics (since they’re alcohol-based)!
My sister’s getting meow-ied!
My middle sister, Larissa, is getting meow-ied! My youngest sister, Lauren, made a banner featuring Larissa’s 2 cats getting meow-ied to celebrate Larissa and her fiance’s, Kai’s, engagement. So here’s the art I made of her 2 cats for it. Congrats you lovebirds! <3
V-Day Doggo
The card I drew for my husband for Valentine’s Day. It’s our dog surrounded by all his favorite things. <3
Drawing Jam 2017
Karl and I rolled in a little later for Drawing Jam this year, but it worked out as we were able to find some good seats in the Costumed Poses room. I tend to rely a LOT on my lines, so I practiced with my color/value shapes instead.
I’ve hardly painted people with my watercolor kit, so this was good practice!

Inktober 2017: Day 26
#Inktober Day 26: My sister’s other cat as a ronin. She’s a lot more agile than the other samurai.
