Newton at rest.

Gesture drawings of some T-mobile employees drawn on my cell phone. I upgraded my phone to a Galaxy Note 5, and oh my goodness, I’m in love. The stylus uses a Wacom digitizer and has enough resistance it feels nice to draw with. ArtRage is also a great, intuitive art app when on-the-go.
I was that nerdy kid that always wanted a Palm Pilot. This phone not only fulfills that childhood wish, but is an amazing mini-sketchbook to boot!

#Inktober, Day 10 (yesterday): My husband and I went to the Woodland Park Zoo yesterday, and I thought it’d be a great chance to get some animal sketching in. My favorite part was hearing all the conversations going on while I drew:
– Both kids and adults were shocked by the tapier’s look and size. Popular kid guesses: “Cow!” “Panda bear!” “Bear?” “Warthog?”
– Another conversation, in one of the many monkey exhibits:
Boy: That monkey’s eating broccoli! At least, he eats his vegetables. He likes broccoli, but I don’t. How can he be my brother?
Mom: I wish you would stop saying that. He’s not your brother.
Boy: But didn’t we come from monkeys?
A few weeks ago, my sister sent me this adorable video of baby sloths. We had this discussion on the silly appearance of sloths and how they move so slow that moss grows on them. So here’s a few quick sketches of overgrowth on a sloth.
