Inktober 2015: Day 1-6

This vacation was the first time we dropped our dog off with a dog sitter. I never expected myself to get so weepy about it. Lots of drawing mistakes due to being rusty and airplane turbulence.

What I love best about tropical islands are the foliage and the neat silhouettes they create.

The birds of Key West: spotted these waterfowl on my walk to the beach.

#Inktober Days 1-6: It’s that time of year, Inktober! I had an unusual challenge for the beginning of this month: I would be on vacation/traveling during the first 6 days of Inktober. Similar to exercising while on vacation, it was a challenge for me to keep up drawing daily. However, going to a new locale is inspiring in itself, and I never ran out of subjects to draw. Key West is a nice change of pace from Seattle. Now that I’m back from my cross-country trip, here are the drawings for October 1-6!

Drawing Jam 2012

This was my first time at Drawing Jam in Seattle, and wow, what a blast! Drawing Jam is an all day festival that celebrates art making. They have a variety of models who pose in different rooms, both nude and clothed, short and long poses. They also gave away free art supplies! My favorite was the costumed room. During the time we were there, the sea pirates and Elvis graced us with their presence.

Batman Challenge

My submission for my friend’s, Niles, Batman Challenge exhibition. It was a nice break from my PC, using my inks and brush again. It also forced me to not rely on the “Undo” button. …though, there’s definitely a lot of things I wish I could’ve undone. Oh, well, there’s always next time!

I passed by a fellow rider, an older gentleman, on my bike commute home. He cheerfully asked me if I could hear all the different birds singing as I rode by. Sheepishly, I slowed down and listened.
