2015 was about rebuilding. My husband and I are very blessed for everything that’s happened to us last year. My hope for 2016 is to keep working on a better version of myself so I can be strong enough for all of life’s challenges. Happy New Year, everyone, and may your 2016 leave you stronger than you ever were before!
#Inktober Day 28: Awhile back when I was down in the dumps about my artwork, my husband framed my worries with the question: “What would your 7 year old self think of everything you’ve accomplished?”
When in self-doubt, it always helps to get a reality check from the “you” that was inspired in the first place.
This vacation was the first time we dropped our dog off with a dog sitter. I never expected myself to get so weepy about it. Lots of drawing mistakes due to being rusty and airplane turbulence.
What I love best about tropical islands are the foliage and the neat silhouettes they create.
The birds of Key West: spotted these waterfowl on my walk to the beach.
Sorry, Karl, I could’ve drawn you better.
Drawn while sitting at the beach. Storm clouds came and went so I had to draw this off and on over the course of a few hours.
Drawn while waiting for our 1st leg of our flight going back home from vacation.
#Inktober Days 1-6: It’s that time of year, Inktober! I had an unusual challenge for the beginning of this month: I would be on vacation/traveling during the first 6 days of Inktober. Similar to exercising while on vacation, it was a challenge for me to keep up drawing daily. However, going to a new locale is inspiring in itself, and I never ran out of subjects to draw. Key West is a nice change of pace from Seattle. Now that I’m back from my cross-country trip, here are the drawings for October 1-6!
My husband took our dog to his work in Seattle for the first time. When they got home, Newton just flopped into my lap. You’d be convinced he was the one working the 8 hour day!
