#Inktober Day 23: Contour drawing study of a treehouse I saw from Treehouses of the World. It’s always fun doing contour drawings because there’s no erasing or take-backsies. It forces you to be present and mindful of your strokes.
#Inktober Day 22: Karl told me he saw our neighbor’s dog, the infamously cute white chihuahua, outside with its owner wearing a green rain jacket today. I wasn’t there, so I tried to draw it wishing I was.
#Inktober Day 20: Otter with goggles. Not my favorite sketch, but that’s not the point of experimentation.

#Inktober Day 18: My sister’s friend suggested a robot in paradise. Maybe making it to outer space is their ultimate dream.
#Inktober Day 17: My cousin and her family came to stay over, so I didn’t get much time to draw today. It did give me a chance to sketch my nieces and nephews though. My two nieces thought my gestures needed coloring, so they helped me with a few up top.
#Inktober Day 16: My friend, Dave, mentioned robots and explosions…so this is what happens when the toaster burns a robot’s toast.
#Inktober Day 15: Trying to loosen up doing Internet gesture drawing with this great online tool, Figure Drawing Practice. Of course, it’s not a substitute for the real thing, but this is nice if you’re too busy to make it to those sessions.

#Inktober, Day 13: Happy Birthday to my amazing master gardener of a mother-in-law, Diane. Her cheerfulness and compassion is never ending. I am so lucky to have her in my life. We couldn’t mail her irises for her birthday, so this will have to do for now.
