A couple weeks ago, my youngest sister graduated from college. I did a doodle of her for a custom chocolate bar wrapper my Mom wanted to give away for her grad party. She’s a Wildlife Conservation major and is going to be assisting in a couple sea turtle research projects including one in Costa Rica! How cool is that?!
A few weeks ago, my sister sent me this adorable video of baby sloths. We had this discussion on the silly appearance of sloths and how they move so slow that moss grows on them. So here’s a few quick sketches of overgrowth on a sloth.
Part 1 of 2: Here is the completed wedding favor my husband and I made for our wedding. We decided to each write 7 pages of comics, and then I drew them all for consistency. This (better) half is his portion. 🙂 Written by Karl Horvath and drawn by me.
Exactly 1 week ago was our wedding…easily, the best weekend of my life!
Now that it’s over, we needed to send Thank You’s for all the amazing gifts we got. So I decided to do one more drawing. I wanted to mimic our invitation’s design but this time with us in our wedding garb.
When Tina Pratt and I were in art school, we had this CRAZY idea to start a comic book club, the “Shoujo Phonebook”, where we self-published our members’ comics. Our first year was incredibly difficult. But through fundraisers, Smash Bros. tournaments, and tons of community service grants, we were able to raise enough to print 100 copies containing about 100 pages of our comics.
After each year, our club kept growing and we kept printing our anthology. Now, the renamed “Comic Phonebook” is ready to print it’s 10th edition and the current officers were kind to ask Tina and I to contribute an illustration for their publication.
There are two mascots for our club: a penguin and a puffin. I decided to draw a penguin to commemorate the milestone. She’s riding a velociraptor because…well, who doesn’t want to ride one?
More pages from my fiance and my wedding comic favor. We each had 7 pages for the book, where each page is a vignette about wedding planning, family, life, etc. This is one of the pages from mine.
