While browsing through my directories, I realized I never posted this one up. I drew it maybe 9 months ago, (so it’s somewhat old) but it was gift art of a character created by one of my art directors at Vicious Cycle. His co-authored comic series, The Black Coat, follows a revolutionary war hero/spy and his adventures to thwart the British. The two characters portrayed in my drawing are The Black Coat and the girl, Robin, who lost her mother to a serial killer in the first volume of the graphic novel.
I’d love to hear more of this story… intriguing image.
The story is definitely pulp adventure/action. Taking place in pre-Revolutionary War New York City, the story begins with a murder of one of The Black Coat’s informants, the mother of the girl in my drawing. The Black Coat, leader of the Knights of Liberty (a secret organization that works on behalf of the Continental Congress), attempts to get to the bottom of this only to find his adversary stronger and more cunning. It was definitely a good read.
Though, you may be waiting awhile after the cliffhanger ending to Volume 1 due to the series’ production being delayed.
